The PE Department offers a wide range of lunchtime and after school clubs throughout the year. All clubs are free for students to take part in unless otherwise stated.
Success Stories 2015-16
High quality PE lessons and a broad range of extra-curricular PE clubs has ensured that a number of students have performed successfully in competitions. Key Stage 2 Football Team – Football League Kids Cup Winners for Wolverhampton, South of England finalists
Reached the South of England finals in the Football League Kids Cup after winning the Wolverhampton Wanderers competition. The team went on to perform extremely well at Reading Football Club during the finals. Key Stage 2 Tag Rugby Team – County Runners Up
After winning the South Staffordshire Level 2 event the tag rugby team progressed to the County Final where they narrowly lost in the final by one try, to finish County runners up. Key Stage 2 Cross Country Team
Year 6 boys reached the county final of the cross country and enjoyed a day out in Stoke, taking part against a number of schools from across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent. Key stage 2 girls Kwik Cricket Team
Reached the county finals of the girls kwik cricket competition where the team performed extremely well in the all the games and were unlucky not to win more matches. Year 8 Sports Hall Athletics Team – County Finalists
Qualified from the South Staffordshire level 2 competition to the regional level 3 competition. All students performed extremely well against schools with significantly more students on roll.
Success Stories 2016-17
Key Stage 2 Football Team – Premier League Primary Stars Cup Winners, South of England finalists, District School Cup Runners Up
Cup winners for the 2nd year running beating 31 other schools at Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. The team again represented our school and Wolverhampton Wanders In the South of England Football League Kids Cup Competition, with pride and narrowly missed out on the semi-final stage of the competition. Key Stage 2 Tag Rugby Team – County Champions
Following last year’s South Staffordshire level 2 win, the key stage 2 rugby team again did extremely well and finished runners up. This ensured a place in the Level 3 County Finals for the second year running.
At the Level 3 County final the team started slow and qualified for the final 8 as group runners up. Despite not winning their group, the team raised their game for the knockout stages, winning both their quarter final and semi-final game to set up a repeat of last year’s final. Some exceptional performances throughout the competition and in the final ensured that the team were crowned County Champions with a resounding 9-5 victory! Key Stage 2 Cross Country Team – District Finalists
All four teams (Year 5 boys, Year 5 girls, Year 6 boys, Year 6 girls) qualified for the district final after 3 teams finished in 1st place and 1 team finished runners up in the regional competition. Key Stage 2 Cricket Team – District Finalists
The Cricket ‘A’ team qualified for the District final after winning all 3 matches in their regional competition. Year 7 football team – District Schools Cup Runners Up
The year 7 football team had a very successful District Cup journey which saw them win 3 matches to reach the District Final. This was a very close game which finished 2-2 at full time. After a very tense extra time period the team were very unlucky to concede a late goal to lose 3-2. Year 8 Sports Hall Athletics Team – County Finalists
Both are year 8 boys and girls team won the regional competition and represented South Staffordshire at the County Final in Stoke. Both teams performed extremely well with a number of individual successes.
