Year 6 Maths Curriculum

Throughout the year pupils will be developing fluency, reasoning and problem solving skills in their maths lessons.
They will regularly practise arithmetic as well as:

Read, write and compare 6 digits numbers Calculate differences between negative and positive numbers Read and write numbers up to 7 digits Addition and subtraction with decimals and money SATs preparation and revision Fraction calculations
Multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000. Compare fractions Multiply pairs of unit fractions Mean average Fraction, decimal and percentage  calculations 2D and 3D shapes
Round to the nearest tenth. Use formulas for area, perimeter and volume Multiply numbers with two decimal places Pie charts and line graphs Scale, ratio and proportion Problem solving in a variety of
different contexts
Convert 3 decimals place numbers to fractions Add and subtract unit fractions with different denominators Long multiplication with 2,3 and 4 digit numbers Coordinates in all 4 quadrants   Binary numbers
Missing number problems Simple percentage of amounts Name and classify quadrilaterals Missing angles around a point   Fibonacci sequence
Order of operations
Fraction calculations and converting improper fractions to mixed numbers Know interior angles inside polygons.
Multiplication and division with large numbers and word problems    
Convert between miles and km   Know parts of a circle Using simple formula in words    
Metric conversions and time calculations   Word problems Sequences and finding the nth term    
Money and word problems   Common factors, multiples and prime numbers up to 100.
